Daily Tile Care & Maintenance
As a longstanding waterproof flooring option, tile is an excellent choice for moisture-prone areas and can be cleaned quickly and efficiently. Although tile is an incredibly durable surface, small particles can still become abrasive over time. Remove all dirt, dust, pet hair, and debris by sweeping regularly with a soft bristle broom. You can mop your tile floor with a mild cleaning solution, an approved tile cleaner from your manufacturer’s guidelines or a simple water and vinegar solution. Make sure to wipe your tile floor dry with a clean towel or microfiber cloth to prevent streaks and standing water that can cause slips.
Dealing With Tile Spills & Stains
With excellent moisture protection, stains are less likely to form on your tile floors. When spills occur you can easily wipe them up with a clean towel or microfiber cloth. For dried spills, use a water and vinegar solution or approved tile cleaner and loosen the stain with a soft bristle brush. Scrub the area, rinse off the cleaning solution by mopping the section of the floor, and dry it once more. To clean any grout lines that the spill touches, use a commercially available grout cleaner or a half-and-half mixture of baking soda and water. Rinse all cleaning solution off before it dries and only use a soft bristle brush on your grout lines.
